Litchfield Veteran’s Memorial Garden
Litchfield Veteran’s Memorial Garden
Litchfield Veterans Memorial Garden honors those who served in the United States military in all foreign wars from World War I through to the War in Afghanistan. Set on a walkway that passes through the east side of Carnegie Park in downtown Litchfield, the memorial lists the names of active soldiers and veterans who died while in action and in times of peace. Several benches are along the walkway to provide places for rest and personal reflection. The memorial was dedicated in 2007.
For a solder's name to be listed on the memorial, the individual must have lived in Litchfield, attended Litchfield schools and have a military DD-214 record. Inquiries can be made by calling 217-324-5796 or emailing 436@yahoo.com.
