Route 66 Hike & Bike Trail at Lake Lou Yaeger

The Route 66 Hike & Bike Trail at Lake Lou Yaeger is a down and back hiking and mountain biking trail that traverses 6.6 miles of the woods on the grounds of Lake Lou Yaeger. This trail begins at any of the Picnic Areas with the main trailheads at the large playground across from the Lake Superintendent's Office (4831 Beach House Trail) and Picnic Area 4.

This is an unpaved dirt hiking and biking trail. Skill level is Illinois easy to moderate for hikers, with a few areas of moderate inclines. Mountain Bikers will find ever level of difficulty on this trail. If hiking, make sure to wear good hiking shoes. Everyone should always take water and food, especially if you plan to walk the entire trail.  From April 1-October 31 bathrooms are available at each picnic area accessible throughout the trail.
