Bicycle Rodeo

Chapter E of the Illinois Goldwing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) is hosting a Bicycle Rodeo, which is a bicycle skills event designed to teach children (age 6-12) bicycle skills in order to be better cyclist. By learning bicycle handling and traffic rules, one can enjoy bicycling more and reduce the chance of injury.

Chapter E of the Illinois Goldwing Road Riders Association is organizing a Bicycle Rodeo for children. This Bicycle Rodeo is a bicycle skills event designed to teach children bicyclists the skills they need in order to be better cyclist. By learning bike handling and traffic skills, one can enjoy bicycling more and reduce the chance of injury.

The rodeo will be held June 22, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Niehaus Cycle Sales parking lot located at 718 Old Route 66 North. Bicyclists age 6-12 are invited to attend along with their parental guardians. This event is free of charge and is made up of a series of stations, each dealing with an important aspect of safe cycling. Participants are encouraged to bring their bicycles and their helmets. They will have their bicycle inspected, learn about safe cycling, and practice bicycle handling skills that will increase their enjoyment of bicycling and could someday save their lives. Every child that participates will receive a ticket to enter a drawing for a chance to win prizes. Hot dog lunch and refreshments will also be provided for free during this event.

GWRRA Illinois Chapter E “The Traildusters” is the local Goldwing Chapter for Litchfield and surrounding area. GWRRA is a “not for profit” organization which is dedicated to Rider Education, Motorist Awareness, Safety & Fun.   The local GWRRA Chapter E”The Traildusters” needs support from community minded businesses to sponsor this fun and educational bicycle rodeo. Items needed include new Bicycles, bicycle helmets, accessories, gift cards, gift baskets and anything & everything that you are able to do will be greatly appreciated.

This is an outdoor event. In case of inclement weather the rain date will be held on Saturday, June 22.
